What happens after the annual physical appointment?
A health promotion consultation appointment will be booked for you after the annual physical. You can book this type of appointment any time you have concerns about your health throughout the year.
If there are any abnormal findings identified in any of your preventative screening tests (blood tests, mammograms, bone density tests, Paps, etc.), our office will contact you directly. We do encourage any patients with specific concerns to return for their results as well.
The Nurse Practitioner is involved with counseling and education about common conditions in order to reduce your risk of developing them, identifying when you do have them and managing them to have the least impact on your life as possible. Reversing the condition is also sometimes possible. The Nurse Practitioner will provide you with general tips and information so you’ll be able to make smarter choices every day.
